Mundell

Small City * Population 10,454 (85% Human, 5% Half-orc, 3% Dwarven, 7% Other)

Founded over eight hundred years ago, Mundell has remained pretty much the same in terms of population size, commerce and the ruling family- the Munds. A walled-city of medium size, Mundell gains most of its wealth as a fishing port and trade stop for the Great Lake Majestic. The Munds tend to be exploitive of their subject population and rule with an iron hand. It is not unknown for the family members to go drinking and seeking entertainment on the peasants’ gold. With the exception of the ruling family (which are exempt for the most part from criminal punishment, unless another higher standing family members is the victim of the offense), criminal punishments are quite harsh, with death and disfigurement being preferred methods.

Sometime during the three generation of Mund rulers, the ruling Mund was slighted, and nearly killed by a wizard. Due to this, the Munds are paranoid of wizards within their lands, especially in their city, which has magical wards, visible only to wizards, warlocks and sorcerers promising harm upon stepping within the confines of the walled city (the wizard who placed these wards was paid quite handsomely for the job) and while all of the effects of the wards are not known, wizards and the like have been known to get blasted with necrotic damage, highlighted in white for all to see and polymorphed into insects and rodents. Wizards, sorcerers and warlocks are not welcome in Mund, and if found, being kicked out of the city is the best that can happen.
